Located in the great state of Texas, Denton County is considered one of the top counties to reside in the Lone Star state. John B. Denton is the namesake of the county, which was founded in 1846. This community allows you to live near the big cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, but far enough away that you still feel that small town charm. Denton County is actually referred to as the apex of the Golden Triangle considering that it is part of the Dallas Fort Worth Arlington Metroplex. The southern portion of the region includes Argyle, Corinth, Flower Mound, Justin, Highland Village, Lewisville, Little Elm, Northlake, Roanoke, Carrollton, Trophy Club, and more. Some of the northern county towns are Denton, Frisco, Sanger, Pilot Point, Krum, Aubrey, and Cross Roads.

Denton County is arguably considered the fastest growing county in North Texas. According to the 2018 Census Bureau estimate for Denton County, the population is 859,064 and growing. With simple access to Alliance and the DFW International Airport, Denton County also has a lot of eateries, bars and beer gardens, parks and hiking trails, and coffee houses to offer. With water parks, bowling allies, university activities including a planetarium, festivals, music venues, and equestrian life, Denton County has a diverse selection of things to do. Denton County has a healthy combination of historical and modern development. Many of the houses and structures are historic whereas the shopping centers and restaurants are newly developed.

A non-profit organization called Keep Denton Beautiful strives to keep an environmentally conscious quality of life in Denton. A lot of the residents are considered homeowners in this area. The county has people that originate from all walks of life and has a lot of members in each of the parties of the political system. Many families, as well as young professionals, reside in Denton County and the population tends to lean to the conservative view but there is also a liberal side found in the city of Denton. The public and private schools in Denton County are highly recommended, rated, and many of them are accredited.

Numerous universities are situated in Denton County. The liberal arts school, University of North Texas, along with the nursing school, Texas Woman’s University, are actually found in the city of Denton itself, whereas NCTC North Central Texas College has two campuses, one found in Corinth and the other in Gainesville. Home to two universities, the eclectic city of Denton is the county seat of Denton County.
